New WBA manager: that’s them safe then.

Despite the disparaging title, I do rate the bloke. Would’ve liked him to stay.

I like Sam but it looks like this squad of WBA players, who were playing 2nd tier football last year, simply lack top flight experience for him to pull off another escape.

When he was at Sunderland / Palace there were players in those squads that had years of PL experience. At Bolton he signed older experienced players too of course.

I'm still hopeful that he will do it again, if he does it will be the most epic great escape of his career no doubt.

I don't. He disrespected Palace thinking he was too big for us and then failed at Everton. Now he comes back and takes a job at lowly West Brom. A serving of humble pie will do him good.
I'm sure our lack of spending ambition played a big part in his decisions to quit Palace but he needs a reality check about what kind of jobs he can get.

He is the supreme escape artist - there is no one better for that specialist role.

Fair play to him that he has carved out a lucrative niche. There will always be work for him.
